A man has been jailed for nine years for killing his partners two-year-old daughter. Connor Gibson, 23, of Melrose Avenue, Blackpool, admitted the manslaughter of Kacey Hambleton, who died in April. He was originally charged with murder but the Crown Prosecution Service accepted his guilty plea to the lesser charge at Preston Crown Court. Emergency services found Kacey, who had suffered severe head injuries, unresponsive on 10 April. She was taken by ambulance to Blackpool Victoria Hospital and later transferred by air ambulance to Liverpools Alder Hey childrens hospital in a critical condition. She died two days later. A post-mortem examination found Kacey had suffered severe head injuries, a lacerated liver, bruising to the lining of her stomach and bruising to other parts of her body. More info within link
