A man has went to heaven today...that I cant not say enough good things about. Dr. Gohlke...or Doc as my Daddy called him...took care of my family in more ways than just medically. He was my doctor as a kid...he sewed my Dad up when dad nearly lost his arm in a boat motor...took care of my mom...was the man I called at 10 pm at home when I couldnt get my husband to go to er (running 104 fever)...and Doc got on the phone with John...told him straighten up and get in the car so I could take him...John did. He took care of my kids...he asked for second opinion at MD Anderson...when Abilene labs said John had cancer...and Doc was right...he didnt have cancer and didnt have to take chemo..for all the stories I could tell....the most important...is that he was a Christian...and an amazing influenced on my husband John P. Volpitta. As a young Christian...when we first moved to Ranger Tx....Doc inspired John...to learn more...do more...and to be a spiritual leader in our home. I can never express in words how much this man ment to our lives....and I know...we were just one family....I know he touched many other families in the same way.
