A man in his dream saw Jesus carrying a 6 foot cross, Jesus said - TopicsExpress

A man in his dream saw Jesus carrying a 6 foot cross, Jesus said to him, carry this cross as you walk, he complained to Jesus because the cross was heavy, what he did was he cut the four sides of the cross, 1foot each, it became 4 feet, he continued his journey until he got tired walking, he again complained and smart as he was he cut again the four corners of the cross, it became 2 feet, he could even jump and run until he reached a cliff, he asked Jesus what to do, Jesus answered, the 6 foot cross I gave you, use it as a bridge to go to the other side of your journey. The crosses we carry could bridge us to heaven, bear them with faith, hope and love. Let us now reflect on the following, as we wish to follow Jesus (Mt. 16:24): 1. CROSS OF HOLINESS (DENY ONESELF) - It takes an effort to be good, there is a need to persevere and deny oneself, ones personal interests. May we carry the cross of goodness and holiness. We may be weak but Jesus will strengthen us, we may be blinded but Jesus will enlighten us, and we may be sinful but Jesus will forgive us. 2. DAILY CROSSES (TAKE UP YOUR CROSS) - could be economic problem, health problem, relational problem and the likes. But if we assess, we could realize that we are the ones giving ourselves problems. On material wealth, more often than not, we already have what we need, is it really necessary to have what we want? On health problem, can we not avoid foods/vices that endanger life? On relations, we could be kind, friendly, understanding and forgiving, etc..., why opted to put hindrance on having a harmonious relationship? 3. SACRIFICE (FOLLOW ME) - is the key to bear our crosses. In the name of love we could sacrifice just like what Jesus did. May we be ready to sacrifice so as to carry the cross to holiness and our daily crosses in life. Amen! A Blessed Week ahead!
