A man is in custody following a police pursuit that circumnavigated Sydney this morning. The incident started about 7.30am (Saturday 1 November), when police responded to reports of a domestic incident at a unit block on Anzac Parade, Kensington. A 33-year-old woman was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with multiple stab wounds. She is reported to be in a serious but stable condition. A man with whom police wanted to speak about the incident left the scene in a car. Police spotted the vehicle in Mortdale about 9.50am. Police initiated a pursuit, which over the next hour travelled the length of the M5, M7 and the M2 before road spikes were successfully deployed on the Gore Hill Freeway. The pursuit continued at low speed south across the Harbour Bridge and through the CBD. It ended outside the Surry Hills Police Station in Goulburn Street, when the car was blocked in by a number of police vehicles. A 33-year-old man was arrested and taken into the police station, where he is currently assisting with police with their inquiries.
