A man of peace, confident in himself, dominates his adversary with his moral strength. Not with his physical power. Helio Gracie At first, this quote by Helio Gracie may seem at odds with his teachings as a martial arts instructor, but you have to look deeper than the surface. The true warrior will dominate his adversary with his moral strength, for it is his moral strength that demands that he (or she) fight for what is right. It is not that the warrior wont use his physical strength, but that his physical power is controlled and guided by his moral strength. A man of peace, a true warrior, does not get his true power from his physical strength or martial arts skills, but rather from his moral strength - his integrity and courage. And having strong moral strength, integrity, courage, honor, and character, he then has the wisdom to know when to use his physical power and when not to. Being a man of peace does not mean that you cant fight or wont fight; it means that you want peace and will do as much as you can to live peacefully with everyone. But at the same time, if he is forced to defend himself or those he loves, the man of peace has no problem dominating his adversary with both his moral strength and his physical skills.
