A man, who has been embraced with love and laughter, is taken to his knees. His hands upon his face as if to push back the endless tears. Mortality has finally griped him, its reality holding its own death upon him. The words “it only comes in threes” can be heard between sobbing breaths. Finding the rage of a fearful fighter he slams his fist in to the floor pushing him to his feet. So many emotion born thoughts take command of his mind. He grabbed a knife while looking at his bear chest, only to throw it across the room. Heading to a mirror everything in his way found ether the floor or a wall. Looking into the mirror he looked within his red swollen eyes. Saying “you have become so old and defeated; everything you have ever loved has ether left you or died. The only thing willing to stay with you is the pain of their memory as they walked out the door.” Ripping the mirror from the wall; shattering as it found it new home upon the floor. He curled up into a ball upon thousand reflections of himself praying to join his first real true love, with his last breath. By Jonathan Paul Germundson
