A man will face court following an alleged stabbing near Cessnock yesterday. Between 9am and 9.30am (Monday 12 May 2014), two men aged 36 and 43 were at a home on Mount Vincent Road, Mount Vincent, about 17km south east of Cessnock, when they became involved in an argument. The younger man then allegedly stabbed the older man in the leg with a knife, before injuring his head as a result of a struggle between the pair. He then left the scene and the older man contacted police. Following investigations, about 1.20am (Tuesday 13 May 2014), a 36-year-old man was arrested at Cessnock Hospital after being treated for a cut to his head and taken to Cessnock Police Station. He has been charged with reckless wounding and granted conditional bail, to appear at Cessnock Local Court on Wednesday 4 June 2014. The older man has not sought treatment for his injuries.
