A man will front court today after allegedly being caught by police while breaking into a unit block in Westmead. About 7.30pm yesterday (Friday 25 April 2014), police were called to Beryl Street following reports a man was scaling the roof of a unit complex. On arrival officers from Parramatta Local Area Command saw the man who allegedly ran through a unit and climbed over a balcony onto the outside of the railing. After a short time the man, a 31-year-old, climbed back onto the balcony and was arrested by police. He was charged with break enter and steal, malicious damage and armed with intent to repeat serious indictable offence. The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 26 April 2014).
