A meditation on Joshua 7: 12b, ....because they have become a thing devoted for destruction themselves. I will be with you no more unless you destroy your silver and gold you have stolen. Israel turned away from God and centered their lives on materialism. The golden calf became their object of devotion again. Thus they devoted themselves for self-destruction. God would not be with them when they conduct their lifes battles unless they remove their material God from them. As believers and preachers, what are we seeking in our lives? Why sometimes we feel weak spiritually? Is it because we seek to find success in the gold and silver? Can we stop admiring preachers who place their trust in the golden calf? They may be leading you to idolatry. They are calling the golden calf as Gods blessing.
