A member of our community who is opening a service in a church - TopicsExpress

A member of our community who is opening a service in a church hall in Ireland would like your opinion on planning permission - Lyn I am setting up in a church hall and with the new regulations, I have all of my paperwork in order. When planning, I checked the building regulations and searched many county council planning records for services in similar premises. I found virtually none who had applied for change of use planning permission. I found that a community centre/ church hall ( day centre) was in the same class of use as a day nursery (preschool) and therefore does not need planning permission (exempted development) if no structural work is involved in the change. Myself and another lady setting up in the area are both speaking to the inspector who didnt know if we needed planning permission. I do not want to be non-compliant with anything and I was wondering what other services are doing or are planning to do once they are inspected?
