A message from Dennis Ward :::: We are fielding requests for grain in order to feed and water wildlife in the wake of devastating fires in NSW. The immediate response is to help however you can. However .... Ive rung the National Parks and Wildlife as well as Birdlife Australia and their advice is to not feed native animals. Obviously birds can fly so they will move to areas where they have access to food and water. Equally wallabies, kangaroos, possums and the like will move in order to survive. By providing food and water people are hampering this natural cycle and will do more harm than good, particularly if the animals stay in an area and the food and water supply stops and they find themselves unable to carry on to a sustainable site. Younger animals are particularly vulnerable .Otherwise I hope everyone is safe.
