A message from QFRS - Good Afternoon, Jimna (Sunshine Coast Hinterland) – vegetation fire as at 2.30pm, Sunday 16 November 2014 Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and Forestry crews are at the scene of a vegetation fire burning in the vicinity of Borgan Road, Jimna (Sunshine Coast Hinterland). The fire which broke out around 2pm today is currently posing no threat to property. Crews are working to contain and extinguish the fire and water bombing aircrafts are being used to assist in containing the blaze. Residents in the area may be affected by a large smoke haze and are urged to close windows and doors. Those who suffer from a respiratory condition should keep medications close by. Motorists are urged to drive with caution and to conditions and be mindful of emergency services personnel operating in the area. Residents who feel their property is under threat are urged to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
