A message from SCRIPPS RANCH HIGH SCHOOL Dear Parents, It has just came to my attention the San Diego Regional Academy at Miramar College is conducting scenario training using blank ammunition near Scripps Ranch High School. The location is southwest of our campus off of Carol Canyon Road near Interstate -15, which is close enough to both observe their officers training and hear the audible blank ammunition being fired. This also concerns me, due to the ongoing shootings at school campus’ across the United States and the mere possibility of getting their training mixed up with an actual campus shooting. San Diego Police Sergeant L. Hall has stated the academy will be having ongoing training at that location, which greatly concerns me for the safety of our students. I will be contacting the San Diego Regional Academy in hopes of having them move their training elsewhere as to protect our students, our staff and our community. Please feel free to contact San Diego Regional Academy at (858) 505-6600 and voice your concerns. On another note.... KUSI will be here this Friday morning at 7AM for their "Alarm Clock Pep Rally". Students may come to the gym by 7AM and shout for our athletic teams as well as appear on TV. The rally will only last about 15-20 minutes, so students will only miss about 10 minutes of class.
