A message from a friend of EcoMaties: From September through - TopicsExpress

A message from a friend of EcoMaties: From September through to December last year, I was given the unique opportunity to work with the Cape Leopard Trust in the Cederberg mountains 3 hours North of Cape Town. Below is a video produced by Justin Eric Woods, which aims to highlight immersive learning. The video outlines activities ranging from geology, astronomy, recycling, birding, tracking... etc. I believe that it is important for us to immerse our children in nature, as it may provide more meaning to their lives. Through understanding our natural environment, we draw more meaning and stability to our lives. The more we disconnect ourselves from that, which is real, the more we will turn to other influences to find ‘meaning’. It is clear to us all that there is a global environmental crises, it is therefore time for us to stand up and bridge the disconnect we have with nature, a way of doing this can start by introducing our children to a new way of seeing the world, which shows how nature is our guide and teacher. If this message resonates with you, please help by sharing. https://youtube/watch?v=eVFjdW9xr9o
