A message to everyone that has liked this page: So, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has liked and shared my page thus far. Your support means so much to me, and saying thank you is the very least I can do. What amazes me the most about my followers, is that I know there are some people here who could care less about cosplay, anime, and video games, but they still took the time to like and support my hobby. When I first started cosplaying in 2005 (my first convention was Ohayocon, and my first cosplay was Gunner Yuna from FF 10-2), I hid my hobby from everyone except my family and really close friends (and it still was kind of embarrassing that they knew!). I didnt want to be made fun of or looked down upon, especially since in high school I was already that weird anime loving girl always talking about Pokemon. I didnt want any more stigma attached to me. Fast forward a little, and I attended my second covention and once again cosplayed. However this time around, more people were aware that I was attending those nerd convention and playing dress up. When I came back and posted photos, I came to find that most people had left nothing but positive comments on my photos, and were talking about how cool something like cosplay could be. Thats when I realized there was no need to hide this hobby anymore. I gradually did more and more costumes, and began attending more conventions. It was nice to come home from a con and see nothing but positive remarks on my photos, even from those I went to high school with who I thought for sure would make fun of me. So I started a cosplay page and no longer hid my hobby. Here I am years later, talking to others about my hobby without feeling any shame. When I first started this page, I was lucky to even hit 100 likes. Now I am over 1,400 and completely overjoyed with how far Ive come. While cosplay is still just a hobby, it has allowed me to make many new friends and see so many amazing costumes. Cosplay has even helped me overcome my depression and it has helped me with my insecurities regarding my body. It also makes life much more fun too ;) Phew, sorry for the long message. I just felt that I really needed to show everyone how much I appreciate each and every one of you.
