A message to you from an ex-student keen to encourage involvement in International Peace Day, 21 September. Hello beautiful souls, For any of you who missed the Dance for Peace I held in honour of my beautiful cousin Bryce and his girlfriend Daisy and havent seen the clip yet here it is: https://youtube/watch?v=ZzCYEfqz4NQ Since then I sent this clip to the family in Holland and they asked for me to post it on Facebook. Thats when I sent the clip to all of you. They were very appreciative of the night we held and feel its beauty helped to heal a small part of their heart for a moment in time. The family have since been filmed on 4 Corners and the morning show ABC. They suffer still every day but have finally found some closure two days ago when a part of Bryces body was identified. So finally closure may be on the way. The family send their love from Holland saying they wished they were there, and thank us for making that night in honour of their beloved children and for Paul (Jekll&Hyde film and photography) who so beautifully captured the special moments we shared in the clip. The night we held, was such a success that Organisers of International Peace Day 21st Sept 2014 have asked to play it on the big screens and Queen St Mall and King George Square all throughout that day along with other messages and short clip of Peace. See other flyer attached. They also suggested I hold another Dance for Peace on that day (which is attached) so I registered under an organisation called Peace one Day. see link below for a 1 minute clip of who they are: https://youtube/watch?v=FIdI_wU0i8I and this is their website: peaceoneday.org My event is free or if people wish to make a small contribution there will be a box available for that. It is a chance for people to express themselves freely to music and movement and explore what peace means to them. We promote Global Peace Day by supporting cease fires on this day across wars around the world but also by finding peace in our own hearts and asking the simple question...Who will you make peace with today? It could be a person, a past event or present circumstance, it could just be a concept. Forgiveness may not be opening your door to people, but it means opening your heart and letting go of the chains that bind you. This is a day of forgiveness, liberation, and freedom. Its a day of joy, expression and connection. Its a day of love, appreciation and honouring. I hope to give you the space for this to be made possible at the Judith Wright Centre for all to enjoy. This is my contribution to International Peace Day. Parts of this may be filmed and be handed into the Peace One Day organisation for promotion. Once again wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle. Absolutely no dance experience is necessary, there may be things you want to join in or you may just want to sit in the space and enjoy the surroundings and connections with other people. 5.30-7.30pm Sunday 21st Sept level 4 Judith Wright Centre. Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley Please reply to this email if you think you can make it (Vanessa Van der Werff [vanessaghs@hotmail] ). If you cant, still try and answer the question: Who or what will you make peace with today? And spend this day thinking of how you can make your life more peaceful. Thank you for your participation in what ever capacity you can. Peace be with you Vanessa
