A military expert has warned that Mzansi itself could be threatened by Boko Haram if the country sends its soldiers to fight the Islamic militant group. In a TimesLive article, military analyst Helmoed Heitman said that if African Union forces are deployed to fight Boko Haram, with SA troops leading the force, there would be an increased threat of terror attacks closer to home. The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that thousands of people fled their homes when Boko Haram clashed with soldiers in Cameroon early on Monday.
