A minutes silence followed by 50 minutes of cheering. Todays game was dedicated to the simpson family. EAST LEEDS 62 0 Crigglestone all Blacks. For the second time in as many weeks we had a minutes silence and thanks to both teams parents and officials for showing such respect for the Simpson family. The boys always lift their game for the visitors Crigg as they have been such a good team over the last few years but recently have fallen on hard times with several players leaving and losing others due to injuries but with players like Duggan, Durber and Hugill when fit will be back challenging soon. I dont think it would of mattered today tho the boys turned on the style today and really punished Crigg. I couldnt even remember if Crigg had had a set of six before we had run up 22 points with some great strong running straight through the middle from sam. It couldve been even more points but for Jack Duggan who did some great last ditch defending at full back but unfortunately as fast as he is couldnt keep up with our own speedster cooper who went under the sticks and with keidan supporting superbly still not quite sure how he managed to wriggle his way up the line to go under the sticks himself. The boys were so keen to put points on the board and try run up a big score as soon as they went over the try line they was straight back into positions without even getting a drink of water like most teams do. With Crigg only having 1 sub you knew it was gonna be a long day for their team as East Leeds had 5 subs and everyone of them would start in any of teams in division one. I cant remember how or who went over for every point in the first half as we was so fast and seemed to happen so often I felt like a Crigg player I couldnt keep up with the game either. With the second half about to start Mal thought it would be a good time to experiment with different players playing in several positions that they never had done before or as I called it piss taking as we should of been working on our moves as todays game was more like a training session. Them coaching courses are paying off Mals beginning to look like a real coach with the help of Paul and Kane. Some of the trys in the second half was just outstanding from the support play play off Lucas backing up sam to receive a great pass to go under the sticks. Callum just steam rolling through to get on the score sheet. Bob today was having a great game making some great yardage on every drive he did. Shaun was was looking back to his best running through the middle with ease all game with some great footwork. Big Moose had a great game today and is a scary site charging down at you and I think Crigg thought that as well as it was taking 5 of them to stop him. With Azz, Big Joe and Dylan pulling the strings you never know what can happen and they was even running the ball great today Azz made a great run and made some good yards Dylan looked odds on to score but unfortunately just came up short of the line and Joe always makes good runs all game. Our wingers Colby and Mazwaui had a quieter game today but still chipped in when ever they was needed to with a tackle. Marcus was on his game today and always makes us laugh with something stupid and at one point somehow received the ball of a Crigg player who had turned himself round and played it straight to Marcus who took full advantage and set us on the attack again. As Big Joe was having a rest Liam decided to take over the kicking duties and was unlucky to hit the post the corner post that is Im not sure if hed seen that pesky squirrel or whether the wind just took it. Massey started this week was in the action when ever he got a chance with some good tackling and strong running. Luke and Clarky had to wait till the second half to get on but both had a impact with Clarky having his best game this week and making some good yards as for Luke he Mr Dependable turns up every week and always gives his best. We have Shaw Cross next week who will be on a high after pulling off a shock today by winning at Hunslet. You can never tell in this league as everyone is beating each other apart from East Hull who still have a unbeaten record in the league and are looking a good side. All the coaches and everyone involved with the club would like to wish the family well and Dylan composed himself brilliantly today in such a tragic time and was really mature of him. (Mals words)
