A month ago I told you about my experience with acute angle glaucoma. Well to make a long story shorter, I had an appointment with my specialiast on Dec. 22. and the next day I was in Toronto as an emergency patient, with my doctors referral. He was going out of town and said I needed the attention immediately or I would lose my eye. I had my appointment for 1:15 pm on the 23, and had to go to the Toronto hospital for emergency surgery. Rough going. I didn,t get into the OR until after 9:00 pm. What a horrible f..king experience. I felt every movement, I didn,t understand until the next day as to why they were so hard on me. The surgeon came in to see me and to apologize to me 4 last nights bad experience. He explained to me why he was so rough on me. They only had this one time to save my eye. And my eye has been thru so much already that no amount of freezing was going to help, said I had the maximum amount that I could have. I might have to have more surgery on this eye. He doesn,t know if this worked. My hole in eye that drains got covered up because my iris got so big that it plugged the hole and thats why I,m in so much pain. The good eye has to have same surgery. They put in an articial lens in my left eye. I have a lot of different drops that have all different instructions, and pills. What a nightmare. I bet I was a nightmare as a patient, I told them I wasnt staying in the hospital and that I was a motel queen....he he well this my xmas this year, but I,m on the mend, til next adventure.
