A morning of exams and horrifying corrective surgeries on some of the worlds most hideous breeds of dogs. Poor brachicephalic pugs/bull dogs with problems cursing every cm of their deformed bodies, all for the sake of aesthetics. It is a sin that this is allowed to continue, animal cruelty to the extreme, they are not dogs, they can not breath, see, walk.. imagine struggling for air allllll the time. Horrendous. And people STILL buy these breeds. Not even adopt, but BUY into this terrible aspect of the pet trade. One vet was talking about how his time is spent correcting the anatomy of these breeds surgically. Made me very angry and very sad :( Some incredibly interesting information about the people out there who are trying to regulate this breeding, changing the desired conformational standards of these breeds that are so blatantly part of our disconcerting desire to play god by morphing mans best friend into monsters. Ah... rant over. Sigh.
