A most blessed Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary - TopicsExpress

A most blessed Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary to you! Jesus is King throughout all eternity by nature and by right of conquest: through Him, with Him, and subordinate to Him, Mary is Queen by grace, by divine relationship, by right of conquest, and by singular choice of the Father. (The Venerable Pope Pius XII) Pope Pius XII, in his Encyclical Letter, “On the Royal Dignity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Institution of Her Feast,” also reminds us of what Pope Pius IX had said of Mary: “Constituted by the Lord as Queen of Heaven and earth, and exalted above all the choirs of Angels and the ranks of the Saints in heaven, standing at the right hand of Her only-begotten Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, She petitions most powerfully with Her maternal prayers, and obtains what She seeks. Finally the Immaculate Virgin, preserved free from all stain of original sin, when the course of her earthly life was finished, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory, and exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son, the Lord of lords and conqueror of sin and death. We celebrate the heavenly queenship of the Blessed Virgin as a unique and singular participation in - and reflection of - her beloved Sons Resurrection and enthronement as King of kings and Lord of lords. As Son of God and Son of Man, it is His gracious love for her that exalts her to share in the fullness of divine grace and glory. The incarnation, death and resurrection of Christ added nothing to His glory; rather it causes all of His grace and glory to be lavished upon us, and especially Her. The Blessed Virgin Mary is the most perfect work of God our creator and redeemer. Our Father has empowered and exalted her to reign and serve as Queen-Mother in the Family of God and the order of grace. Thanks be to God! Marys function as (queen-)mother of men in no way obscures or diminishes this unique mediation of Christ, but rather shows its power. But the Blessed Virgins salutary influence on men....flows forth from the superabundance of the merits of Christ, rests on his mediation, depends entirely on it, and draws all its power from it. No creature could ever be counted along with the Incarnate Word and Redeemer; but just as the priesthood of Christ is shared in various ways both by his ministers and the faithful, and as the one goodness of God is radiated in different ways among his creatures, so also the unique mediation of the Redeemer does not exclude but rather gives rise to a manifold cooperation which is but a sharing in this one source.
