A mother shares: My first child was 100% natural vaginal birth, - TopicsExpress

A mother shares: My first child was 100% natural vaginal birth, almost in the car, and it was a lovely magical experience. I was up and about fast. My second child, I made it to a 9-10 and she was not descending, so they gave me pit and then her heart rate went crazy. The pit was making it hard for me to even talk and eventually after much debate I ended up with an emergency c-section and was thankful we didnt try anything else because of the cord placement, she wouldnt have made it. My third child was an absolute nightmare and I still have panic attacks about it. We were in a car accident at 27 weeks which caused complications. I was in preterm labor until I was induced at 34 weeks for a vbac. By that time my body was shutting down due to injuries hidden by pregnancy and after 15 hours of pit induced labor my body couldnt take it anymore and we were rushed for an emergency csection. I honestly dont have many coherent memories from the time of the crash until my child was released from the NICU a few weeks later. We are actively trying for another baby and to be perfectly honest I am scared to try for a vba2c because of how miserably I failed last time. I know things were beyond the realm of a normal vbac at that point, but at the same time I dont want to go through a RCS and have regrets afterwards. I know what the research says for the physical side of healing, but can anyone speak for how the emotional and mental side of healing is effected by vbac or choosing a RCS? #ICANSupport
