A mother visits her son for dinner, and they are joined by the sons female roommate. During the meal, the mother couldnt help but notice how pretty the roommate was. This made the mother exceedingly curious, as she had long wondered if her son and his roommate were in a relationship. Over the course of the evening, as she saw the two interact more and more, the mother became increasingly more certain that the two were in a relationship. As if reading his mothers thoughts, the son says, I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you that were just roommates. About a week later, the roommate approached the son and said, I havent been able to find the silver plate since your mother came to dinner. You dont think she could have taken it, do you? He replied, I doubt it, but Ill email her just to be sure. He wrote: Dear Mom, The silver plate has been missing ever since you came to visit me. Im not saying that you took the silver plate or that you didnt, but the fact remains that its been missing since you were here, and I figured I would check! Love, Your Son Several days later, he received a response from his mother that read: Dear Son, Im not saying that you do sleep with your roommate or that you dont sleep with her, but the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her OWN bed, she would have found the silver plate under her pillow by now.
