A mother writes, I recently had my son almost a month ago. He was 9 weeks early and is still in the NICU. He is still intact, but I did sign the circumcision form. At first I was okay with this, but now I really dont want it done. I find my son to be perfect so I dont see a point in changing anything. My problem is that his father really wants him circumcised. We never had this conversation before I gave birth because I was told by doctors I was having a girl until one day before I delivered when they did a scan to see about how premature our baby was. I feel so torn. I dont think I will forgive myself if I get him circumcised, but I do want his father on my side and to agree with me about this. I dont want to be the type thats says because Im the mother it is only my choice. At the hospital it all happened so quick - not only was I having a baby 9 weeks early, I was having a boy, and I was told I had to decide two days before I was released (not my baby) whether I would circumcise or not. Any suggestions on how to convince his father its unnecessary and wont cause our son problems not being cut. Thanks so much.
