A mountain is composed of tiny grains of earth. The ocean is made up of tiny drops of water. Even so, life is but an endless series of little details, actions, speeches, and thoughts. And the consequences whether good or bad of even the least of them are far-reaching. Swami Sivananda I guess this is an unusual shot after those lovely fall colors and aspen leaves.. This is just a prime example for me, why it is reasonable to keep my eyes open and look into every direction even during shooting the most beautiful wide landscapes. When I started shooting out in the wilderness I very often make the mistake concentrating only the big pictures... Hiking to get to the highest point, choosing the more exhilarating sites, trying to express people with my shots.. And somehow I didnt feel the rhythm, somehow I felt it just doesnt come together. This is when I started looking for smaller details, the colors of wild flowers, the textures under the surface of the water, the swell of the ocean, the curves of the river. Feel the wind, enjoy the first sunbeams, slow down and really just be in the present. That was the moment when the pieces started getting together. That was the moment when I felt, I dont need to chase happiness, it had been there all the time.. I just needed to open my eyes end use my senses.. It is as simple isnt it ? And sometimes we need a lifetime to recognize it Im afraid ....
