A movie review Harold and Maude The moment this movie started i realized that this would be a difficult movie to use considerate diction to best explain what was going on in front of me. Imagine a time in the late 70s as a boy the son of an aristocratic mother, and all you want is to be left be. Left to your devices the only reason you choose to make your presence know is to remind those around you to leave you alone, in your own special way; pretend suicide. This a movie that is very easy to spoil so i will omit much of the depth of the storyline and be a bit more vague then i generally am, and yet share more of what i drew from this movie, more then the context itself. To live in a world without consequences, you must truly not care about the opinions of others, neither there perceptions of you, or your actions. Being who you are is fine, as long as thats what makes you happy. love can come in all variety, and the balance between what one has and what one lacks can create a union unlike those had by most. The movie as a whole has a very fun light and happy go lucky vibe, and it seems this is where Wes Anderson draws inspiration for some of his movies. if you into a dry and crisp, yet witty movie, and you have an hour and a half to space, id highly recommend this. The acting, the music {cat Williams}, art direction, and cinematography were spot on. The only reason for me that this movie does not rate higher in my eyes was once again due to some of the predictability of the plot, and that it seems to drag for about 15-20 minutes longer then it needed to in the middle of the movie. overall, the best movie so far on my list. Im happy to give this film a 7/10 thanks again to Monika Lain for this suggestion
