A new 170-pound champion will be crowned when Johny Hendricks - TopicsExpress

A new 170-pound champion will be crowned when Johny Hendricks (15-2-0) battles Robbie Lawler (22-9-0) for the vacant title. Hendricks returns to action after being narrowly defeated by Georges St-Pierre in one of the most controversial decisions in UFC history. After a five-year reign at the welterweight division, champion St-Pierre relinquished the belt, electing to take personal time away from competition. Now the top fighters in the division square off and a new champion will be crowned in this pay-per-view event from American Airlines Center. Hendricks plans to take the belt that many believe he already earned. Currently on a three-fight win streak, including a win over St-Pierre training partner Rory MacDonald, Lawler looks to cap off his remarkable UFC comeback with a win over Hendricks. Don’t miss out! UFC 171 will be LIVE, only on Pay Per View Doors open at 4pm Early arrivals are recommended.
