A new 282-acre master-planned community is in the works for Kissimmee. AV Homes Inc. (Nasdaq: AVHI) announced plans to start work on Waterview, a 282-acre, 527-home master-planned community south of U.S. Highway 17-92 and South Poinciana Boulevard, said a news release. Homes will range from 1,800-3,400 square feet and be priced from the $180,000s. Pre-sales are set to launch in January. New homes signal an uptick in Central Florida’s housing market, an industry economists consider a bellwether for the regions economic health. While providing more options for new and existing residents in an inventory-starved region, the project also will provide construction, subcontracting and vendor opportunities.
