A new Central American canal that will dwarf the existing Panama - TopicsExpress

A new Central American canal that will dwarf the existing Panama Canal? This is the first Ive heard of this Chinese project. It sounds as though its moving to construction awfully fast, and with very little attention to the impacts and consequences it will have. The impacts will obviously be huge. For instance, American and Canadian manufacturing will find it even harder to compete against the Chinese if they can ship their super-cheap goods to the Eastern Seaboard as cheaply as they do to the West Coast. Im quite certain that Nicaragua, and the giant, unique fresh water Lake Nicaragua, will both be transformed beyond recognition. The government of China claims no ties to this project. Do corporations really have this much power?
