A new TV series Gregory R. starts on Monday The authors of the film tried to get rid of the incredible amount of myths surrounding the legendary figure of Gregory Rasputin - played by Vladimir Mashkov . It starts with the investigation of the murder of Rasputin, which is done by investigator Henry Nikolaevich Sweatt - played by Andrei Smolyakov. The detective interrogations more than 150 people, trying to literally bit by bit to figure out why the old man died. In the course of the investigation Sweatt learns why the illiterate Russian peasant was in the royal palace. At the same time the most famous myths about Rasputin is debunked. For example, the legend that Gregory was a foreign spy, or of its close connection with the Empress. In the role of Emperor Nicholas II - Valery Degtyarev, Empress Alexandra Feodorovna plays Ingeborg Dapkūnaitė. The role of another of the main characters, Felix Yusupov is played by Vladimir Mishka.
