A new active sunspot - AR2205 - has emitted an X.1 solar flare today, Nov 7. This is in keeping with the uptick I spoke of in my newsletter (click here to read it: ow.ly/DZbV3) going into next week (specifically Nov 10 and Nov 12) X-flares are the most potent of solar flares (C-class and M-class flares are less energetic). The question is whether this flare is accompanied by a Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). I believe a CME has been reported but as of right now I dont have confirmation on that. Heres why the presence of a CME is important: A solar flare itself is a burst of light like the flash of a cannon. It takes 8 minutes to reach earth and impacts our radio signals. A CME (which sometimes accompanies a flare and sometimes doesnt) is a massive expulsion of solar material ejected into space. It can be likened to the cannon ball itself which is projected outward after the flash of light. A CME enters the Earths atmosphere within 2-3 days, which is when we see spectacular auroras. A CME can wreak more havoc than a flare can. It can cause destablilization of satellites and electric power grids. The CMEs are the thing to watch for. They produce gorgeous auroras thats for sure, but they also can push alot of intense incoming particles into earths energy field- and not only into earths energy field, but into OUR energy fields as well. Note that last month (October 2014) we had SIX X-class solar flares. But none of them had CMEs with them, so we were spared a double whammy! Thats nice cause six CMEs would have ramped up our experience considerably. Last month we got bright flashes of LIGHT and instantaneous information. If we get CMEs next week, this is more a matter of anchoring high frequency vibration into the body. Its more PHYSICAL than a flare on its own. There will probably be more flares over the coming days (and perhaps CMEs) from AR2205 over the next week. If there is a CME with this first X-class flare it will show up on Monday Nov 10 right in synch with some volatile planetary alignments. Expect an uplevel.
