A new bill should be proposed regarding recruitment and qualifications for prospective politicians just as in private sector. The key requirements, but not limited to, under mentioned, - Min qualification be Bachelors, pref Masters in. Law, Political Science or MBA in Energy, Environmental science, Accounting or relevant dept. of ministry. - Association with certifying bodies as Associate member of Charted Politicians - Certificate courses or Phd added advantage. - UPSC, GMAT, Psychometric or All India joint qualifying examination. - 1 yr Internship at Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha level or relevant ministry as industry exposure. - Another 1 yr of probation post completed qualification. - Citizenship Indian by birth - Retirement age 60 yrs - Extended retirement age +5 yrs (only in special cases, no compassionate grounds or personal reasons) - Not convicted of a crime or offence, or charged with a trial or party to a crime or offence, or subject of any criminal proceedings in any country including India. - Never been involved in an act of genocide, or war crime or in the commission of a crime against humanity, or used, uses, advocated or advocates the use of armed struggle or violence to reach political, religious or social objectives or associated with such groups directly or indirectly. - Never awarded or refused refugee status, been refused admission to, or ordered to leave India or been detained, incarcerated or put in jail. - Not having any serious disease or physical or mental disorder. If such a bill is implemented today it will still take India another 60 yrs till the new lot of politicians arrive and the existing lot cleared out. Time to act now so the result is seen after 100 yrs or the progress gets prolonged further into the future.
