A new couples-based therapy for those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder has been launched in Victoria, B.C. by veteran Chris Linford and his wife Kathryn. Last year, as I put together a roundtable meeting on veterans’ mental health services at a local Legion, I was lucky to have the support of Chris and others who have served in conflict zones and dealt with PTSD in their own lives. There is perhaps no more vivid illustration of the damage Stephen Harper’s priorities have done to Canada than this government’s shameful treatment of veterans—all veterans, but worst of all those struggling to overcome the physical and mental scars of their service. I look forward to working with Chris and Kathryn and advocating for support from the federal government.
