A new favourite exercise that Ive been doing. These tricep - TopicsExpress

A new favourite exercise that Ive been doing. These tricep extensions really breakdown the muscle fibres and give a good burn. I prefer these as an isolation exercise over most other tricep exercises purely because you are shifting a greater amount of weight than you usually would with a dumb bell as you are shifting much of your bodyweight. Not only that but you can easily increase the difficulty by moving your head further over your forearms to make the exercise more difficult or further away to make it easier. Not only that, but lets take a look at an example of a similar exercise, the supine lying dumb bell extension. Pretty much the same as this exercise except with dumb bells, where you lie down on a bench face up with dumb bells above you and arms straight, bend at the elbows to lower the weights down toward you and then back up again. It can definitely benefit you and give you bigger and stronger triceps however you are limited to the assistance you get with this exercise, since you will need somebody to help you if you start to slack in this exercise and you cant really do much to help yourself. you also need stronger forearms to help aid in elbow extension, especially based on the finishing position of the dumb bells, so if your forearms are weak or give up quickly, your triceps will lose out as you wont have the strength to hold onto the actual dumb bells, therefore no tricep extension. Also, with bodyweight tricep extensions, you are pushing your hands into the ground as you extend the elbows, so in the sense the exercise is easier as you can generate force by pushing your hands into the ground, however the way the exercise is performed means that it is still a demanding exercise so you still massively benefit. Give it a go!
