A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you Ezekiel chapter 36 verse 26 God restores His people to holiness by giving them a new heart and a new spirit. His Word says “I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh” (Ezekiel 36:26) Can we come to understand the depths of God’s love toward us? In His wisdom He completely changes us for He says “I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes” (Ezekiel 36:27) This calls for a transformation “be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2) King David sought to be in a right relationship with God “Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight” (Psalm 119:36) David could delight in God even though he had not had the privilege of receiving all that God has to give through Christ. In the light that David had he could account for his heart to be clean and right when he prayed. God has shown His own loving heart. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8) No other can compare to God’s love. A new heart is available to all who place their trust in Christ and in receiving Him we receive the Holy Spirit too to live a life which is wholly centered on Christ. When Christ is all we want then there is calm and holy peace and we are lit up with His joy.
