A new software has been installed called iSkysoft iTube Studio and it can be found in your dock. This software is used to download YouTube videos and convert them so that they can be inserted onto your timelines in any editing software you are using. Just follow these few simple steps: 1. When in YouTube, click the download button that appears in the top left hand corner of the video and choose the frame rate and raster dimension you’d like 2. A new dialogue box will appear. Click Ok. 3. Click once on iSkysoft iTube Studio in the dock. 4. On the left hand side of the window click ondownloaded 5. You will see your video listed there and you’ll see to the right of it, it says converted. This is because I have set up an automatic conversion for you to .mp4, which can be imported into FCP and Premiere. a. If you want to convert to a different format click on the converted button and you will see many different formats you can choose from. When you run your mouse over these formats you will also see a little gear shift icon that you can click to further modify the settings you want to convert your video to. 6. Go to File > Open Converted Folder 7. This will open a dialogue box that shows you where your newly converted video resides. Move the file into the folder you have set your scratch disks to. 8. Open whatever software you’re editing in and import the file and edit as usual. a. If you are using FCP, when you bring the clip into the timeline if you get a dialogue box that says, “Change sequence settings to match clip settings?” Click no! Hope the software is helpful to you all. If you have any questions or require further assistance please contact a staff member in the Equipment Room
