A new year dawns; new opportunities will come our way, just as they did in the year that has passed. I make no resolutions, I make no firm plans, we all know what happens when you try to set plans in stone, lol, God will laugh and show you what HE has planned for you. We have hopes for the New Year; we have things we would like to do, and things we would like to avoid. In the long run, we have to simply adapt to what comes our way. We do not have a lot to say in what happens around us or to us, but we do have control over how we react to it. My hopes are simple; for our families to be safe, healthy and happy. To grow as a person and be the better person in a bad situation. To make at least one person happy to have met me, to know that I have done all I can to help someone who might need a hand up, an encouraging word, a smile or a kind gesture. Im not perfect; I never will be, but I can improve. Wishing all who read this a happy new year, I hope you did not over do it last night, I hope you spend the day with people you care about and do things that make you happy. For us, shrimp and scallop casserole, baked stuffed clams, steamers, fish, and lobster will be the main dinner theme. Adding to that; beans, spinach and cornbread (tradition in the south to have those last three things on New Years Day for luck, health and happiness) Enjoy the day, I hope the start of the new year is wonderful for each and every one of you.
