A newly established music festival Vladivostok Rocks ( V-ROX) - TopicsExpress

A newly established music festival Vladivostok Rocks ( V-ROX) founded by Ilya Lagutenko and his Mumiy Troll comrades two years ago, is coming to Los Angeles on November 23. Visualized as grassroots and international event helping to cross-promote local artists from the Pacific Rim countries, it provides an opportunity for musicians from such “NOT QUITE ROCK N’ROLL” places as Siberia, China, Korea, Mongolia, and many others, to let the world hear the music of many still undiscovered artist. Because of the city’s unique geographical position, V-ROX put Vladivostok on the map of international emerging music scene. Direct flights brought thousands of artists and students from Hong Kong, Beijing, Seoul, and Tokyo. A new university campus was built to accommodate all those who came to Vladivostok to rock! Rapid development of technologies gave a push to many artists in Asia to start creating amazingly fresh sound. Some of those acts are certainly worth seeing live because they can easily compete with any of the western bands that are on the market right now. The idea of V-ROX is to help young people discover new music and to bring the artists and the fans together. This year we decided to take V-ROX showcase around The Pacific. Our Los Angeles show will feature special guests Benji Hughes from North Carolina and L. A. based band Chicano Batman. Together with Mumiy Troll, they will take the stage of Troubadour to prove once more that music has not borders. Join us for an evening of great music on November 23
