A news item that caught my attention, and was frustrating enough to want to think in words what could be done about it. Very disturbing both on the state law level that does not allow the accused to do anything but sit in jail until trial but can hold for a year before a trial occurs and on the level of the relative punishment between the falsely accused and the false accuser. Losing your job and your life on nothing more than a word does not in any way seem just. For those who want employers to punish when the law wont, this is the result. For those who think the Mens Rights Movement has no purpose or place, or that Men do not have issues with the legality of our system, this is one of the things to be aware about. While an innocent man is in jail for a year the woman who put him there gets 35 days and probation? He loses his job and is being discriminated against for an accusation, but her job is legally prohibited from firing her? Bear in mind she faced up to nine years for her three felonies. Which sounds like enough until you realize she was trying to set this man up to spend up to 60 years in prison. And of those 9 years? she serves 35 days, and wears an ankle cuff for a year to monitor her location and without even being convicted the man she accused spent an entire year in prison.... There is enough fail here on all levels to go around. Justice is not, and has not been served in this case and a look at the method that led to it leads to a conclusion that justice is unlikely in any case of this nature. Serious reform needs to be reasonably talked about and pursued to prevent such gross injustice. This is not a way to handle these accusations, nor a way to separate the guilty from the innocent and punish accordingly. https://youtube/watch?v=eSFIeDvduzY&app=desktop
