A news report obtained from Sahara Reporters claims that the Vice President of Nigeria, Namadi Sambo, was unable to recite an Islamic elementary prayer. According to the online journal, the VP wrongly recited the Fatiha prayers during PDPs campaign in Zamfara and Katsina. We read that he improved by the time theyd gotten to Kano state. Sahara Reporters source, Malam Ibrahim Mohammed, said it was especially surprising because Sambo boasted that he comes from Medina since his name is Namadi and that he performs Islamic rites and goes to Hajj annually for pilgrimage. Ibrahim Mohammed said: “The audio is presently being circulated for people to listen to characters and jesters pretending to be Muslims but cannot recite Fatiha prayers. It is unfortunate that he embarrassed himself after boasting of being knowledgeable Muslim. “If you don’t know religion properly how can you lead with fear of Allah and fear him. And he keeps boasting, for the fact that he cannot say this prayer, it shows, he is not a Muslim and there is need for him to seek further Islamic knowledge. “It is a shame and it calls for reflection because it surprised many of us.” It will be recalled that last week, the VP questioned Muhammadu Buharis faith, telling Muslims not to vote a man whose running mate was a Pentecostal pastor with 5,000 churches.
