A nice and well written Suggestion ! Hope you will feel the positive changes when you visit the hospital next time. The actions are already in action. Lets all make it a better place to have a hope for life. !! The article is as follows (copied from the source): Source: theideanepal In these recent years, Teaching Hospital has been hugely extended with lots of new building dedicated to more particular department. It has now individual building dedicated to Cardiac, ENT, Accident and Emergency, Ophthalmology and Gynecology. It is indeed, very good news to have such a range of departments in a single hospital. Recently I had to go to Hospital for some medical reason. I was looking for ENT department. And because of the huge area of hospital, I couldn’t get a proper direction for where should I look for ENT department. If there was a proper signpost around the hospital, it would have become much easier for me to navigate around the hospital. Well, there was one signpost just after the main entrance, but it was hard to look for. I guess information about area and signpost should be placed in a more suitable area where people should find it easily rather than search it for. And also, these signposts should be of suitable size so that everyone can get their attention rather than go unnoticed (which is the case now). Okey after that, I asked some people and they gave me the direction to the ENT department. Now the problem was not just till finding the ENT department. In-fact the problem was even bigger when I reached ENT building. I knew I had to register first and get a ticket to see the doctor. But, it was very unclear, for where should I go to register myself. Had there been a proper signpost, I would have found the office to register more quickly. But no, I needed to ask to some people AGAIN to get the direction to the registering office. That was that, I was registered and I was handed a book /ticket (A kind of log book that doctors use to write the medical diagnosis). Now after getting the ticket, nowhere in the book or ticket tells what should I do after that. Again, I asked somebody and finally found that I need to hand that ticket to the guard. For god sake! Doesn’t it seem an ill managed hospital where people need to ask every-time for what to do and where to go next? Well, I guess it’s the lack of information around the hospital that is putting the people into such situation. It is not a big hassle just to put some signpost and information around the hospital. I am sure, proper signposting the area could make the life easier. I am not too criticizing the management, but again it is just a small thing which I think hospital should take care of. All to all, Teaching Hospital is ever expanding and doing great. I am sure hospital can take care of these small things. The things which I have mentioned above may be seen just as a small problem but these problems are the real problem. It is always good to hear that somebody from other country tells that hospital in Nepal is very managed isn’t it? It shows the management system and above all is a national pride.
