A nice fwded msg on whtsapp: If your kid fails or perform poorly in exams you dont check teachers capability but if your patient doesnt respond to treatment you start doubting doctors. Yes, emotional stress plus financial distress of relatives waiting outside hospital is very high but you need to understand human being is not immortal, no doctor intentionally kills or deteriorates patient. I see relatives asking same question to different doctors to extract positive feedback, is it for mental satisfaction or a plan to set a trap to catch doctors in his own words as if they are CID officers. People ignore warning signs of their illness , go for cheap remedies, not compliant to treatment but expect magic bullets from doctors. If you tell relatives about General condition of patient that he is on ventilator, requiring support for blood pressure, urine output is dropping, white blood count is high.... Next question is ... Baaki thik hai na. What remains baaki I dont understand. Knowledge gained by doctors after 10 - 12 years of study and years of experience is interpreted by relatives using their logic or internet reading of half an hour. 5 - 10 % doctors are do wrong practice either due to financial gains or inadequate knowledge, but its not good to doubt each and everyone. If someone advices investigations bill will go high so you start blaming but if diagnosis is missed you will catch him medico legally for negligence. Up and above this doctors need to get permission from various authorities... municipal corporation, waste disposal, fire NOC, water supply department and many others. Finally, you expect concession, bills are doubted ,services are blamed. People can spend thousands in functions, cinema, mall, pizza without even bothering about Bill but in hospital they try to act like yellow ration card holder. Dont know where our health system is going but people are training doctors to be a smart doctor not good doctor.
