A non martial arts based post.. We are in the throws of Christmas buying things, worrying about whether we have the right presents, making sure we get paid in time to join in the festivities, making sure we get to attend your work do and have a belly full of food and drink etc.. But just a few minutes ago I had a harsh reality check - as I was driving across the bridge, from what I can only guess, was some poor soul had just jumped in a few minutes earlier. Foyle search and rescue shining torches into the water and cars parked along the side of the road. To say that it was a moment of clarity is a massive understatement. As I realised some family, unknown to them may have just lost a family member - a son, a daughter, a mother, or a father. Obviously the circumstances of which are not known. This is the harsh realities for many people at this time of year as they struggle to cope with various aspects of life. Please, If you have family member who is fragile this time if the year - please make sure and take care of them because god knows how many of these tragedies that could be helped/avoided with a few sentences of reassurance in a simple conversation.
