A not often seen shot of the Sox and Martin SS/E 1969 Six Barrel - TopicsExpress

A not often seen shot of the Sox and Martin SS/E 1969 Six Barrel Roadrunner…As much of a frenzied S&M junkie and historian I would like to think I am, there is not much documented history on this flash in the pan in the team’s storied history. Does anyone know if this car was a true M-Code A12 car, or just powered and set up to look like one? Much like the RO23 Hemi Belvedere II they ran in SS/B and later in SS/D that was portrayed as a GTX for advertising purposes, I have always wondered about this often forgotten car. My interest resurfaced a few years ago when I campaigned hard for the die cast replica of it to be made in 1/18th scale by Jim from Supercars. IIRC the driving duties of this car were farmed out to some of the teams contract drivers like Bob Lambeck, Herb McCandless and others. I know it wasn’t campaigned very long and many don’t even know about it. As some other people have mentioned on this photo, I believe this is Don Carlton behind the wheel of it at Atco in Jersey. I would be interested to finally know the lineage of this car and whatever happed to it…
