A note about the allegations of racism North Shore Beach Club: Recently and over the past few years I have seen and heard allegations about North Shore (Pool Club in Northern Liberties) being a racist establishment because of the owner Brian Nagele turning down parties from black promoters. Im going to say what he cant and probably wouldnt... The pool isnt for everybodys party! The elephant in the room is that most events in Philadelphias urban community arent attracting upwardly mobile consumers (That doesnt mean ppl that make money). Its not race thing its a brand standard thing! NSBC is a private facility that people pay $600 per season for a membership. They visit during the week and consume food and liquor...ALL WEEK LONG! The risk vs. reward on parties isnt worth loosing steady weekly business because the cache of the venue has turned into a Night Club vibe. A party that generates 5k at the bar with no overcrowding and security issues is better than the party that generates 30k in bottle sales and the neighbors complaints, Issues in the parking lot and the BRAND VALUE of the venue drops immediately. You see... Brian has to open up tomorrow and NEXT YEAR no matter what happens at your party. You can move forward and not worry about it! Regarding recent incidents... a group of promoters sent a young white woman into the venue to lie about setting up a private VIP event for 150 people... when they found out it was being mass promoted and an extreme misrepresentation of what was communicated NSBC canceled. Try that same shit at a Starr restaurant and see what happens! Lastly... Ive known Brian for 8 years now. Made tons of money with him and his companies and his two biggest parties at his venues are produced by black men (Me and @Ryan Dorsey) not to mention over 50% of the staff is black. Brian is a lot of things to a lot of people .. as am I, but a racist he is not! Get your track record of success together, show some pictures and testaments of past things youve done, have some letter of recommendation by similar venues and I bet your result will be different. Everything that doesnt happen in your favor isnt racism.
