A note about traveling: while I am passionate about so may - TopicsExpress

A note about traveling: while I am passionate about so may different genres of music, to the point of chills and sometimes even tears, and of course the sensation that I must dance, I often choose not to wear my headphones, or even bring them along while traveling. I prefer to take in the sounds along with the sights, textures and smells. The sounds of the surroundings when traveling are all part of the awakening experience... However! I will from now on bring music and headphones! My train ride from Lyon out through the Rhone valley and into the Loire valley was a 6 hour journey, which, for me, on a train is typically quite delightfully pleasant. This time, not so much. I boarded near Vieiux Lyon pleased that I had a great window seat and room for my little roller bag above (I really did pack light, that is once I sent my hiking gear home in the mail). Well, as soon as we reache Part Dieux, the real station in Lyon, twenty some 10 year old summer campers boarded the car I was on, and at this point finding a seat on another car is no longer an option... It was at this point that I went to my travel notes and said that yes, bring headphones and music.mthey are ten year olds, they have a lot to say and a lot to laugh about, which is a good thing.... But.... They were loud!!!! I do love the train, and the scenery was out of story books, at least the sort I knew from my childhood, and the campers did get off an hour before I reached my destination Amboise where I crossed the bridge walking away from the train station and look up to see the chateau! It was still a beautiful day to ride a train through the French countryside...
