A note from Pastor Booker: From the One Year Bible reading today- Worship & Warfare 1 Chronicles 25:1 Moreover, David and the commanders of the army set apart for the service some of the sons of Asaph and of Heman and of Jeduthun, who were to prophesy with lyres, harps and cymbals. King David realized the power of worship. He was a worshipper at heart, and he knew that so many of his victories were won before a spear was ever thrown. They were won in worship. This portion of scripture says that David and “the commanders of the army” assigned worship leaders. Isn’t it interesting that the men of war are the ones that picked out the worship leaders? They knew that the first and most important tool in warfare is worship of the Lord. It wasn’t the priests who made this decision. It was those assigned to battle. The Lord is using this scripture to teach us that the first act we take in warfare is to worship the Lord. Its not worry, its not fear, its not anger, its not endless discussions….its WORSHIP! Are you engaged in a battle right now? Your first step is to worship the King the Kings!
