A note from Rev. Wendy Lambert: We just concluded the sermon series, “Wild Kingdom: Celebrating God’s Creation.” It was a fun series and I hope sparked some interest in people to go and take part in the Oklahoma City Zoo. I love going to our zoo! It is a great place for fun with families and friends. Did you know that in July and August, the Oklahoma City Zoo has Way Back Wednesdays? Through August, Wednesdays at the zoo are just $1 admission and there are special food and ride offers for $1 as well. Recently, our family went to the zoo and Brooks went to Stingray Bay. Brooks loves animals and can get engrossed in watching them. He was fascinated with the stingrays and the small sharks in the exhibit. I had purchased a couple containers of food that he could hold out to the stingrays to feed them. He was having a great time. But he happened to notice some small children next to him who had their hands in the water, but no stingrays were coming up to them. Brooks offered them some of the fish food so that they could attract some of the rays to come closer. It was one of those great lessons for me - it is great to be captivated by the wonders in life, but don’t lose sight of those next to you. We are called to help one another - by sharing and celebrating in God’s creation together!
