A note from my old pal Doug: Ive been given the task of selling my sons amp since he needs the money and lives out of town. Contact me if you are interested; Doug Cooper Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Modded by Omega Amps: Get That Dumble Sound! - $500 He bought the stock amp in 2009 and had it modded by Jim Price of Omega Amps in 2010. Jims modifications significantly improved the stock amps overdrive channel - he installed new, high end tubes (JJ and Sovtek) and added mid boost and preamp boost functions to the amp, both controllable via a two control footswitch distinct from the stock amps clean/drive/moredrive footswitch. The modded amps overdrive channel is voiced to sound like something like a Dumble Overdrive Special, and has articulate lead tones and tons of gain on tap. The clean channel still has that classic Fender clean tone but sounds a lot more full and warm when you push the tubes into natural overdrive by cranking the amp. A brand new Hot Rod Deluxe from Guitar Center of MusiciansFriend is $730 plus tax, and Jims standard modifications + preamp boost, mid boost and footswitch ended up costing $500, so what youre getting here is a boutique sounding amp for the price of a used stock fender. Bring your guitar and try it out for yourself, and feel free to give me a call if you have any further questions. This amp is super clean, not a scratch. Havent had time to take photos yet but will later or can send you some. Heres a link to Omega Amps site where you can find audio clips to get an idea of how the amp sounds: omegaamps/mods.html Yes it is for sale. . . but you play blues with it!
