A note to my engineering mates regarding this article: Hey lucky they are extending the retirement age! Ill see all you guys back at Skippy Jet when the shit finally hits the fan and they start recycling ex engineers again... This cant go on without the Murphys Law thing engaging. Its as you guys know only a matter of time. When you see the latest aircraft as in the Malaysian 777 disappearing without a trace that only signals to me the impending dramatic issues that the dereliction of maintenance services by airlines will cause. The blame for any loss of life, MOVING FORWARD, should be fairly and squarely on airline CEOs and BOARDS for facilitating potentially hazardous air travel in favour of the bottom line and their bonuses. I have seen as you guys have the shoddy practices of so called cheaper MROs. Im sure if a few of these boardroom psychopaths ended up in prison for their actions there would be a lot more emphasis on in-house maintenance.I have never yet met an aircraft maintenance engineer whose highest regard is for bonuses over the safety of the flying public as is the way of the weeds that infest the airline boardrooms and executive nowadays... I fear for the next major aviation loss...
